High Level Library 3rd Annual Croptacular Weekend - Day 3

So day three was pretty much for the die hards that just can't get enough of crating! And we actually had quite a few of them I must say. Of course we also had some that just had to stick around right to the bitter end!!

The die hard crafters! Of course most of these are the ones who traveled a fair distance to get to the crop, so it only makes sense that they stay the longest!

Of course Lisa and ShawnaLee are continuing their ongoing competition to see who can stay the longest! I think this year it was almost a tie between them.

Of course Heather had to out do them and stay even longer!

Despite how much running around I did all weekend, I did get some crafting accomplished, and not just the painting class I took. I did some of the make n'takes and got some of my own stuff done too.

This was one of the make n'takes. I am going to put a Christmas photo of the kids on it when Tonya takes them to get Santa pictures this year.

These were the other make n'takes that I did. They are all really cute - the bear one is my favourite I think. It is supposed to be for gift cards but I think I am gonna keep it for myself!

And I had time to do a couple easy layouts. I love how Jeffery can fall asleep anywhere!

Of course I had to do one of Octavia - and this one was pretty easy. I just accented the background paper because I liked it just the way it was!

And I got spoiled by my pal Jeannine. She won one of the major door prizes - a set of ATC's that my other crafty pal Candy Rosenberg donated. I told Jeannine that I had been hoping to win them and she gave them to me! She is awesome!!

I have to add to this a bit, but these are the ATC's Candy made - totally my style don't you think?!

And of course this was Amanda and I after everything was said and done! We were exhausted but I am pretty sure everyone had a really good time. And we raised almost $3500 for the library. So I think we can definitely say this crop was a success!

I am sure it is gonna take me a while to recover - not to mention I think I am coming down with a cold. So till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

High Level Library 3rd Annual Croptacular Weekend - Day 2

Well Day 2 was another rounding success - and I even got a little bit done!! Not much with all my running around, but I did accomplish a couple things so I feel pretty good about it all!! Check out the activities of the day!

Day two is underway - and everyone is already hard at it!!

A LOT of people did the make n'takes that Treasured Memories designed for us - Nicole is a GREAT teacher and everyone was really happy with what they made!!

We did another couple rounds of Musical chairs - these girls learned from the last group and didn't run  quite as fast! And all the winners from each round were put in a hat and Dawn won another prize. All around a successful game!

The one class I wanted to take this year was the Fall palette painting class Mary offered. I just love how everyone's turned out so cool and I love mine! Especially all the texture!

My painting! So pretty and so much texture! Was a really fun class.

And Lisa Peters was one of our big winners - she won the return airfare to Edmonton from Northwestern Air Lease. I think her hubby already said they are gonna use it to go to a hockey game! She was one very happy scrapper I can tell you that!!

And of course we had to get a group shot.
What a great bunch of ladies to spend the weekend crafting with!!

I will have more photos to post tomorrow of the wrap up day, so till next time stay crafty my peeps!

High Level Library 3rd Annual Croptacular Weekend - Day 1

So Friday has finally arrived and it is time for the festivities to begin!! And of course I was so swamped and running around like crazy I didn't get pictures of the hall when we were set up and waiting for all the attendees to arrive. But I did take a video so if you want to see what we had set up before the madness started, take a look at my Facebook page!

But we really did have a great turnout. We had 31 ladies attend and the fab gals from Treasured Memories (KC and Nicole) even came up all the way from Edmonton. I spent most of my time running around visiting and doing games and stuff so didn't get a lot of photos, but did manage to get some.

And we are off and running! These crazy crafty gals are a fun group!

Classes were pretty small this year but those that took them enjoyed them. Cathy taught they great gals a fun and easy layout. It is nice to see what you can do with just a few materials!

And we did our first round of musical chairs - scrapbook style. The ladies were really good sports and had a lot of fun - though I think it was more fun for those watching than those running around! LOL

So the first night was a lot of fun - even if it was a whirlwind! I will post more as the weekend goes by! Till then stay crafty my peeps!!

Tuesday, 10 October 2017

So started the week getting some happy mail! Got my card/tag from Lori for the marbled card/tag swap. She sent me some other goodies too. Love how they look!

And then it was time to get the final touches to the High Level Croptacular. The goodies bags are just the beginning. Check them out!

Not sure how much time I will have to post the rest of this week but I will definitely be posting on the weekend for the crop. So till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

Happy Thanksgiving!!

So with today being a holiday, I actually got some more crafting done!! I had yet another swap to finish off - especially since I was a bit late with it. This one is for my pal Gena and is a Halloween themed flip bag. I wasn't sure about how to do this one. I checked out the tutorials on YouTube and then just kinda did my own thing. I also ended up making her two of them - just because. Here are some pics.

I hope she likes it - and forgives me for being late! Till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

I finished off another swap this weekend too. This set was for another swap for my Card Making Friends Facebook group. This one was called a Marbled Tag/Card swap. I decided to do a couple different techniques for this swap to show my partner a couple things I can do!

This is the base for the card - I used a fun technique I found on YouTube.
I used Alcohol Inks on Yupo paper. It really gives a cool effect.

Then I just wanted to keep the rest of the card simple so added some die cut trees.

And then here is the finished card!

For the tag, I did an Autumn/Fall theme, and I used the new Tim Holtz Distress Oxide inks for the background. They give a really great marbled effect. I got the idea for this technique from my latest issue of Creative Scrapbooker magazine.

This is a close up of the tag.

And here is the finished tag. I am pretty happy with how it came out.

Pretty happy with how crafty I was over the weekend! And then this next week is going to be taken up getting ready for the big croptacular next weekend. So till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

Saturday, 7 October 2017

So I had to get some swaps done this weekend - I started of with making an altered canvas. And this one is going all the way to Pakistan! It is also going to be my November design team post. So I won't share the whole thing now, but here are some sneak peaks.

I will post more on this project next month, but till then stay crafty my peeps.

Friday, 6 October 2017

Had a good start to my weekend. I went to another paint night - this time hosted by Chinchaga Adult Learning Centre. It was a lot of fun. I think I am getting better at this painting thing too - it was a lot of fun and it seemed to come pretty easy. Natalie was also a good teacher. Check out my new painting!

This was what we got when we got to class - a black canvas and some paint

We used the blue in several shades to make the background  and the vase. We then used white for the first layer of the flowers - to make sue they didn't disappear into the black background. I have to say I was quite happy with the flowers I made. I am getting better at this drawing thing!

And this is the finished painting. I really like how it came out. This was a totally fun event.

So till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

Monday, 2 October 2017

I was so tired from my weekend I realized I forgot to post a few things! As well as the other projects I posted before, I also got a couple tags done. These were ones I had started I have no idea when - I have been dragging them around for awhile waiting for a chance to finish them. Very happy with how they turned out!

Not to mention, I forgot to show the prize that I won! I posted it to Facebook and then realized - DANG my parents are gonna see this! LOL But what can I say, it was that kinda weekend!!

So till next time - stay crafty my peeps!

Sunday, 1 October 2017

The other project I got finished this weekend was my design team project for Mixed Media Mojo Challenges. The theme this month was haunted with the twist of zombies. This is what I came up with.

The technique I used for this tag was wrinkling a paper bag that I then attached to the tag, then painted orange. Once the paint was dry I brushed the entire tag with black ink. Finishing touches were adding the chipboard zombies and the words. A fun and easy tag for this months project!

And the best part? The chipboard pieces are from a Canadian company called Southern Ridge Trading Co. Make sure you check them out!!

So till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

I cannot believe how much I actually got done at this crop! Even on the last day - which is only a few hours and mostly taken up with visiting. I got this layout done.

It was really a fun weekend. One of the things the organizers did was give us all a puzzle piece that everyone decorated as they saw fit. Then the put it together and gave it away as a final prize. I didn't win it, but it sure turned out great!

But then it was time to pack up and leave. SAD! :(

But I did have a blast with my posse!!

So another crafty weekend came to an end. Now I have to sort everything and get myself organized for the croptacular in two weeks. Not to mention get some swaps I am in finished. Gonna be a crazy few weeks. So till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

Saturday, 30 September 2017

So, day two of our crop was as much fun as day one! These gals really know how to have a good time. I got my big Moleskin A3 journal started - Paula and I worked on it together, but since it had to have so much drying time, didn't get much done on it. But I did get it broken in!

And of course, we had a LOT of fun, considering that they gave us all wine!!!

We made ours into spritzers. Yummy!!!

And the group photo turned out so cool - the fall colours made for such a fun photo.

I - of course - had to scrap this!!

I got quite a bit done too - I can't show one project as it is for a contest, but here is some of the other stuff I got done day two:

It is easy to scrapbook my grand kids when they are so stinking cute!!

And I did more work on the ATC's I started at the PMS crop. I prepped them first - and then check out the ones I finished.

All in all, a pretty fab say! We really had a blast! So till next time and more adventures, stay crafty my peeps!
