I did get some happy mail this week too! I got not only my swap from my fab partner Teresa, I got my latest goodies from Melinda and her fab kit club Scraps of Elegance/Darkness. I didn't get great pictures, but I did do a video of opening everything so check it all out!

And here are the pictures of my swap!

I just love how spoiled I get when I go to the mail these days! Well, I hope to get to my craft room this week/weekend, so when I do I will post more. Till then, stay crafty my peeps!
After my whirlwind day in La Crete at the Bo Bunny event, I did need some down time. But I did manage to finish something. I had one partner that I had in two separate swaps and I had finished her vintage tag but not her ATC's. So I got them done on Sunday when I was putting away all my goodies. Hope she likes them.

I didn't put a lot on them this time, as I wanted to showcase the backgrounds on them instead. I have more posts to do, but should get a bit of work done first! So till next time, stay crafty my peeps.

So had another crazy crafting weekend that has taken me DAYS to recover from (as well as being stupid busy at work!) so haven't had a chance to post. I still haven't put away all my goodies from the event, or finished my projects, but thought I would post a bit about it anyway.

Went out to Scrappy Apple in La Crete on Saturday with a fun group of ladies and we got to do several projects with Jeri from Bo Bunny.  Such a fun lady and really creative! We had so much fun learning from her. It was a fantastic day. When I get my projects completed I will take pictures.

Did get some other stuff done on the weekend, but will save that for a separate post. Till then, stay crafty my peeps!

I applied for another design team today! As you can see when you look at the bottom of my blog to see who some of my favourite sites and kit clubs are, Scraps of Elegance/Darkness is one of my top favs! And they are having a design team call so I thought I would throw my name in the hat once again!

These are the three projects that I submitted for my application. Not only are they some of my favourite current projects, all three of them were done using supplies from my SOE/SOD kits!

I really love working with their kits - Melinda is a GENIUS when it comes to designing these kits. If you haven't seen what they have you REALLY need to check them out!!

Till next time - stay crafty my peeps!
The last two classes of the crop were taught by the awesome Kassandra - she did a couple art journaling classes. For one class each person went away with two completed pages and for the second one they got one page. It was again a lot of fun to see people try something completely new to them. Here are a couple pictures of the participants, along with the completed pages that I did (as I took both of Kassandra's classes!)

And here are a the pages that Dawn and Treena did in the one class

Overall, I have to say that the event was a RESOUNDING success!! Everyone who came had a fabulous time and I already have 13 ladies signed up for next year. And preliminary numbers show that we raised quite a lot of money as well. I am so glad that the event went well!

Till next time, stay crafty my peeps!
So I said I would get some pics up of the fun classes we did at the crop so here they are!  I taught the first class on Friday night - an altered dress form. I had a full class and all the ladies were up for doing something they had never done before!

I was super impressed with how everyone's dress forms turned out. They all rocked it!

This is the one Dawn Thompson made.

This one is Pat McOuat's

This one was done by Wendy Stubbs

And this one was done by Leona Doerksen.

Everyone said they really enjoyed doing something out of their comfort zone - and I really love how I taught them all the same techniques but everyone ended up with a totally different look to their projects. I think that is my favourite thing about altered art classes.

Some of the other classes that we did were my funky and fantabulous friend Cathy's colouring class and Geli printing class. And again, all the ladies had fun and learned some fun new techniques.

We also had some fun with Kassandra's journaling classes, but I will post those pics in another post. Till then, stay crafty my peeps!

The 2nd ANNUAL High Level Library CROPTACULAR was even better than last years event. We hosted 40 ladies (well 39 ladies and one gentleman!) over three days and just had so much fun and laughter throughout the weekend.

Friday night the ladies started rolling in with their crafty supplies and the fun began!

We didn't do a whole lot of the prizes and such on Friday night, but we did have one big winner. We had a game where the prize was return airfare for two from Edmonton to High Level and the lucky winner was Helen Batt! She was really excited.

Then the rest of the night was spent with the ladies getting their crafting on and one class - the dress form class I taught. I will do a separate post about that class and the others, but boy did we have a blast and do we ever have some amazing talent in our group.

Day two started.out just as much fun. The ladies all showed up bright and early to get breakfast and get their craft on again.

The day was filled with more fun and laughter, as well as more games and prizes. We even had the chance to round up (almost) everyone to get a group photo that we want to submit to Creative Scrapbooker magazine.

And of course, as well as all the amazing meals we had throughout the day, we ended things with a fantabulous ice cream bar donated by my pal Paula in honour of the 11th Annual Ice Cream for Dinner Day. This was one of the highlights for many of the ladies, myself included!

And of course we had to end the day with another game/more prizes. I wish I had thought of it sooner and had someone video this last game as it was an absolute hoot! We played Scrapbook musical chairs and because we only had 5 people play they all went home with prizes. I couldn't track them all down for photos, but did get a few of them to pose for me!

Then on Sunday we had a few die-hards that just had to go to the bitter end! It was a great suggestion to have the option for three days this year - we had at least half the ladies take advantage of this option so they could at least get a few more things done. More fun for all.

But you know what one of my highlights of the weekend was? We had a couple special guest "crafters" at our event this year. Coco and Rick were a hit with all the croppers!!

So I will do a separate post all about the classes from the weekend. But I really want to thank all the ladies (and gentleman!) that attended the crop and made it such a huge success! You guys are the best! Until my next post, stay crafty my peeps!
We really had a fabulous time this weekend at the 2nd Annual High Level Library CROPTACULAR. What a crazy weekend it was though!

We started - Amanda and I as organizers - by getting the hall all set up. Which was easier to do once we tracked down the tables! (LONG story - don't ask, lol!) Then we had 50 goodie bags to fill with all the fantastic goodies we gathered for the croppers.

After a few hours of set up we were all ready to go for the next day. We had more prizes than I expected - I had trouble finding spaces for them all. But we were excited for everyone to arrive and see all the fun and goodies we had for them.

And then my Edmonton gal pals - and fellow teachers for the crop arrived wit hall their stuff in tow. Rather late cause of the bad roads but the did arrive in one piece! And this isn't even all they brought!!

Then the weekend was finally here and the ladies started to arrive.  So the fun begins!! Stay tuned and stay crafty my peeps!

In what is likely a first for me at an event like the library crop - especially when I am an organizer - I actually got a project of my own completed. Without following a kit or staying up all hours of the night!! I was pretty impressed with myself I have to say.

One of the gals who came to the crop brought all these old poster board/press board signs that the health region used to have up all over the county. Since they don't have the correct name on them they can't be used anymore but Treena didn't want to throw them out. So anyone who wanted one could have them to do what they wanted. This is what they looked like originally.

I started altering mine by painting it with black gesso and while the gesso was wet I added the left over tissue paper from my class!

Then in the morning once it was all dry, I added all the embellishments and the photo I wanted to use.

I love the quote on this plate - thought it went well with the picture too.

And I called the canvas Happy Trails as the picture was from a recent walk we did with our dogs out on the trails out at Footner Lake.

I am really happy with the end result. I used sculpture medium on the burlap on the bottom so have some cool texture and lift to the project. And I am really surprised that I had enough time to get a project of my own completed during all the madness of the crop.

Treena finished the board she started as well.

Overall, was a really fun project. I cannot wait to see what some of the other ladies who took the boards end up doing to them! Until my next post, stay crafty my peeps!
