Wednesday 31 August 2016

So I can say goodbye to August's blog posts with another finished project! I completed the layout I started yesterday using my latest goodies from my SOD kit and one of the great photos I got of the girls while they were up visiting. Really happy with how it came out. The only drawback is that since I called it Wave Babies, I have had that song from the 80's by Honeymoon Suite going through my head! I even had to download it so I could listen and try and get it out of my head. I will likely sing it every time I see this layout. LOL

I also finished the journal page I was working on. I am not 100% happy with how the tears came out, but overall it is how I envisioned it. Can't really ask for more than that!

And I got another step done in my Greek Mythology project. The tags are almost done and then I think I can say the project is completed. Hope so! Want to get it off to my partner soon.

Hopefully I can finish the tags tonight! Till next time though, stay crafty my peeps!

Tuesday 30 August 2016

It is so nice to be able to get back to my craft room for longer now that my summer responsibilities are over! I am back to having a dozen projects on the go and loving it!

First, I did more work on my Greek Mythology project done. I have part one finished and I am now just working on the tags that go with it. I hope to have everything done so I can mail it out this week. Here are a couple more shots of the tags in process.

Then I started a layout that will either by for my September wall calendar or just because! I want to use a picture of the girls from our latest trip so I am using some of the new paper I got in my latest SOD kit. Liking it so far! Not sure where else I am gonna go from here but so far it is fun!

Then I decided to start a Shabby Chic canvas. I am in a swap that I have to do this theme so want to do an experiment for myself first! All I got done last night was painting it with Gesso, but at least I started - and I plan on using my Prima Alchemy paints so can't wait to see where this one goes!!

And then I did some more work on my latest journal page. I was feeling pretty down after how things turned out this weekend, so wanted to journal it. Really happy with how it is coming. I wish the black gesso would stay as shiny looking as in the first picture, but I have ideas on how to fix that. I have to say I am definitely happy with it so far.

So I have to say I am feeling great with how crafty I am being this week. Want to get in as many posts on the blog as I can this month, so plan on spending more time in the craft room tonight! Till next time, stay crafty my peeps!!

Monday 29 August 2016

So the ladies golf tournament is over for another year - and thank god cause it was really not any fun this year. But now that it is over, I can get back to doing more crafting!

I did do some crafting for the tournament - I made 84 paper roses to put on the tables. Man was that a lot of work!! But everyone really loved them - and wanted to take them home! So that was kinda cool. Made all the burnt fingers from the glue gun worth it.

So Saturday was a write of for crafting as that was tournament day but I did get back to the craft room last night and got some stuff done. I finally got my latest purchased put away and logged into my apps on my phone. Then I did some more work on my Greek Mythology project. I am really liking how it is coming out!

I also started a new journal page. I had ordered new make-up from Younique and with each order I got this cool purple tissue paper. So decided to use it for the base of a journal page. I also added a little of one of the new Dylusions paints I got (as I spilled some when I opened up the container and didn't want to waste it!)

Really looking forward to working on these things more! Till next time, stay crafty my peeps.

Wednesday 24 August 2016

So my nieces went home yesterday so my life is slowly going back to normal. Busy normal that is! I have the Ladies Golf tournament this weekend which means my week is gonna be a bit nuts, but it does mean I have crafting to do as I said I would make paper roses for the event - and I have to make 84 of them so that is a tad time consuming! It is a bit slow going, but I am hoping to finish them tonight! Here is a peak at them!

But the best part of the day yesterday was going to the post office. I got my swap from my fab crafty friend Debbie from the SOD/SOE group. And OMG it is AMAZING!!!! Pictures don't even BEGIN to do it justice. The clay octopus she made is unbelievable! I can't even imagine the time she put into it. I love it!!! And she totally spoiled me with extra goodies as well. Totally cool mail day. Here are some pics.

So until next time, stay crafty my peeps!

Wednesday 17 August 2016

LOTS of craftiness happening in my household last night. And still got to visit with my nieces as they were once again helping me make butterflies and flowers for the upcoming ladies golf tournament.

I also got happy mail - my latest kit from Scraps of Darkness. I have been getting the Elegance kits lately (I used to get them both, but had to cut back due to finances!) but decided to switch to the darkness ones for awhile. And totally happy I did. Got some great paper and ideas for some scrapbook pages to do with them.  I did a video of my goodies so check it out:

And I even used some of my new stuff while shooting the video, so you can see what I had planned for it. I am still working on my Greek Mythology swap. These are some of the tag in progress, as well as another shot of the box.

Gonna keep on working on this project. Think it is almost done. I am also gonna be spending a ton of time this weekend making flowers! Good thing I have my nieces as minions! Till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

Tuesday 16 August 2016

I ACTUALLY got down to my craft room last night! Not really to do anything for myself, but still I got down there! My nieces helped me make some flowers and butterflies for the ladies golf tournament next weekend.

And I did do a little more on my Greek Mythology project, though not a lot. I did another layer of colour but I think it needs a bit more. It is getting there though.

I will likely do more tonight - especially with the girls help. Till next time, stay crafty my peeps!!

Monday 15 August 2016

Had a fabulous weekend - though no crafting! Spent the weekend camping in the Northwest Territories with my nieces. We had such a blast! And I now have a ton of great pics to scrapbook - here are some photos of our fabulous weekend!!

I do have to get to my craft room tonight - need to make flowers and butterflies for the ladies golf tournament in two weeks! But I will still be able to visit with my nieces, as they will be helping me!! Till next time, stay crafty my peeps!!

Friday 12 August 2016

FINALLY got a chance to finish up a project - had time before the gold medal swim by the Canadian girl to get some crafting in! Really happy with how it turned out!

This is the project that I started awhile ago and didn't know where to go with it. I started, as usual, using up leftover material from other projects. Here is how it started.

But then I didn't know where to go, so I started over! I painted over it with white gesso and then added some Dylusions sprays.

From here, I took some colour off using a stencil and baby wipes - great technique used by many of my crafty friends and idols (like Dyan Reavely!).

Was much happier with it from this point. So then I just had to add the photo and embellishments that I wanted! Really love the end result!

It is great - and pretty easy too - to create awesome projects when your nieces are so photogenic!! Well, now I am off to spend time with them - we are camping this weekend! Till next time, stay crafty my peeps!!
