Sunday 31 January 2016

I spent a great deal of time in my craft room this weekend - but surprisingly, didn't finish a thing!

But I do have a TON of things in progress!!

I started the next week of my Donna Downey IW 2015. I am about halfway through week 23 - which leaves only two weeks after that. So far, so good with this one!

And then I started another swap project - I was supposed to have it done already but was a bit stumped how to start. I think I have it though. It is almost done - I have to attached the star I made for the back once it dries (I got impatient already once and had to start fresh, but I think it will work this time!)

And lastly I was working on a Mardi Gras journal page.  I colored a couple masks with my Copics and then put them on a page in my dark Dylusions journal that I had sprayed with Dylusions sprays. Even after I sprayed it with fixative before I glued them down the colors bled a bit. But in the end I still like how it is looking so far!

Well till next time, stay crafty my peeps!!

Friday 29 January 2016

I also finished week 22 of my Inspiration Wednesday 2015 class- I really have to get moving on these so I can get on to IW 2016!

I had fun with this one.  The end result wasn't quite what I wanted, but I still like it!

It was fun playing with different paints and painting styles!  As always, it might not end up as I had envisioned, but I loved the process and love the end result!

Till next time, stay crafty my peeps!!
I got some art journaling finished finally last night.  Thought I would share the process with this too!

I started this page  by using up leftover paint from some other projects.

Next I added some texture using 3D gloss Gel and then painted over that with more leftover paint. As well, I added some canvas and burlap Prima flowers as well for even more texture.

I finished the page off by adding colour to the flowers, as well as painting in the stems and adding some other accents in black as well as a quote.

The end result - I quite like it!

Till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

Tuesday 26 January 2016

Found myself making a bunch of tags on the weekend so thought I would share the process!

I started with some plain tags and my supplies

Then I added some Tim Holtz tissue paper with glue and seal

Then I added a blend of Tim Holtz colours to each tag

Then I added stamps and flowers/bling to them all to finish them off. I am quite happy with the end results!

Till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

Monday 25 January 2016

Here is another project I got done over my very crafty weekend. As I said, I had a ton of swaps to finish and this is another one. I had to make some ATC's for Jenny - who lives in Winnipeg. It is fun when I get a Canadian partner for a change! Especially one who lives somewhere I used to!  I hope she likes them.

Till later - stay crafty my peeps!

Sunday 24 January 2016

Got totally crafty this weekend - even though I have been fighting a cold.  I got LOTS done!

First, I finished off the first quarter of an all year swap for Chic Cratique.  I am part of the Not So Secret Sister Swap and I have to make or buy things for my partner for every month this year.

I made her this canvas for January

Then this is her gift for February - a Valentine Box full of chocolates.

And then I made her a tag for March - and I threw in some extras as Angel Kisses just to round out the package.

Then I had a good-bye dinner with my crafty pal Rhonda - who is moving to Grande Prairie. She brought me some swag back from her recent trip to California and Art Venture

Next, I made another small canvas - when I showed my friend France another canvas similar to this that I made, she asked me to make her one for her daughter. This is what I came up with.  I am hoping she likes it.

I got more stuff done, but since it is late and I have to get up early for work tomorrow, I will leave the rest till later posts.

Till then, stay crafty my peeps!
I got FABULOUS happy mail this week! My awesome swap partner Jessica gave me some great goodies. I already have one of my fav pictures in the frame.

I was so excited to get my goodies that I took a video of opening my package. It was like Christmas all over again!!

Till next time - stay crafty my peeps!

Friday 22 January 2016

I FINALLY got back down to my craft room this week! I have been feeling off this week and just not motivated, but managed to not only get some stuff worked on, I did some organizing as well!

I did more work on my projects for my Not So Secret Sister in Chic Craftique. I am working on a canvas for her for January, as well as a box for February for Valentines day.

Started by inking this chipboard piece I got in my latest kit.

Then I added the turquoise stickles that also came in the kit

Then I attached it to the canvas

To finish the canvas, I am going to add some flowers and embellishments.

And this is the start of the Valentine box.  I used the new Candied Apple stain I just got.

But I spent most of the time in my craft room doing more organizing. I have a great app that I got to help me keep track of all my stuff. It is called Craft Cabinet.  It takes a bit of time, but so far it has made it really easy for me to keep track of my stuff and not getting doubles!!

This is how it shows on my phone.

Then you organize all your products into drawers

And then in each drawer you have your products - includes a picture and a description (and you can also add a location and any other notes you would like about the product)

Along with my Tim Holtz app I pretty much know what I have in my craft stash!

So until next time, stay crafty my peeps!

Wednesday 20 January 2016

I got happy mail today! My latest kit from Scraps of Elegance/Darkness - check out my video of opening this box full of all the delicious goodies!!

I cannot WAIT to create with all this crafty goodness!

Till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

Monday 18 January 2016

I was rather lazy this weekend and didn't get down to my craft room AT ALL!!  I had a good reason on Saturday - it was my husband's birthday and I was celebrating with him all day.  On Sunday though I had no excuse! LOL

But I do have some other cool news - I will be teaching a card class next week for our local library. The class is at 7:00 pm in the library on January 28th.  There is space for 10 people and everyone will go home with three cards/envelopes.  I have some ideas that I am working on, but haven't finalized my plans yet.  But here is a sneak peak at what I am thinking of.

Birthday

Easter

Valentine's Day

I will post more pics next week once I do the class.

Till next time, stay crafty my peeps!

Friday 15 January 2016

I have a whole bunch of projects in various stages of being done, but nothing yet finished so didn't really have anything to blog about. But I wanted to keep up my plan to post more in the new year, so wanted to think of something else to post about - but still in the crafting world!

I get asked quite a lot about where do I get my ideas and where do I get my supplies. The second question is often difficult because I live in the middle of nowhere and the closest craft store to me is well over an hour away! The advantage I do have is that I have traveled  quite a bit during my scrapbook journey, as well as meeting people for all over the world and as a result I have quite a few contacts in the industry and I get my inspiration from them. I also do A LOT of online shopping.  So I thought I would share some of this with you here on my blog.

One of the best places I have found not only to shop but for inspiration is the girls at Scrap Addicts in Edmonton. Ivy and Cori-Lyn are not only great ladies they are ENORMOUSLY talented and generous in sharing that talent. If you are in their area you really need to stop in and visit them and let them feed your addiction like they do mine!

This is a link to their web-site:

Scrap Addicts

This will get you not only to their blog but to their store - where you can shop to your hearts content!! I LOVE getting fun packages from them.

They have also introduced me to some great ladies in the crafting world - like Finnabair and Candy Rosenberg.  I had so much fun learning from them!

Candy Rosenberg was the first guest instructor that they brought it that I got to go to. She was so much fun. Ivy said she was a blonde version of me!  This pic I am holding one of our projects. And this was the other I made - that I TOTALLY LOVE!!

It has even inspired me to do other similar projects - one of which I even got published!

And last summer they brought in the AMAZING Finnabair. I had SOOOO much fun learning from her. She is a sweetheart. And I just LOVE the projects we did.

This is one of my all-time favourite projects.

This summer they are bringing in Dyan Reavely - I cannot WAIT to learn from her!! It is going to be so much fun!!

One of my other favourite sites is W2 Scrapbooking! I love them so much I bookmarked them on my blog - check out the link on the right! Wendy is so much fun and so creative. And her store is awesome! And she has a great blog too - lots of inspiration there too!

And of course, my latest obsession/place to shop is with the fab girls at Scraps of Elegance/Darkness! Melinda creates the most fabulous kits - I anxiously await them every month! I love them so much I have them tagged on my blog too!  And the gals in the Facebook group are really so fantastic! Really creative as well as really great at sharing/being supportive of their fellow crafters.

Well till this weekend - when I can get into my craft room and finish some of my projects - stay crafty my peeps!!
