Really wish the mail would hurry up and get here! I have some great stuff coming from my wonderful suppliers that feed my addiction! You have to check out Wendy's blog - Shiny Objects - and her great site W2Scrapbooking!! At this point my store is here to feed my addiction to her store!!
And last night I had a blast doing another Mixed Media class via FaceTime with Dawn and The Inked Stamper girls. I really love that I can still take classes even when I live a million miles away in the middle of nowhere!! I just LOVE LOVE LOVE how this page came out!!!
And I had a fun filled weekend in the city to boot - going to see my new grand baby and seeing the play Avenue Q.
And of course a trip to the city wouldn't be complete without doing a bunch of shopping for crafting supplies! I also got a great kit from Trisha at Artsy Adventures and picked up my supplies for my online class with Dawn!
Make sure you check Trisha out on Facebook - her kits are great!
I did get some other journaling done this weekend.
When my colours didn't turn out as expected on my IW pages, I tried again in my other journal. And I love how this one came out. I used techniques I have learned from all my scrapping buddies and just LOVE LOVE LOVE the end result!!
And then yesterday I got happy mail - I got my ATC's from my swap partner Renee. So fun!
I might just get more crafting done than I thought, cause when it is killer hot outside, my craft room in the basement is the place to be!!
I'm not sure what I was expecting with this week, but I knew I didn't want to go with black glazing because I wasn't 100% happy with the results of it on week 7. So I had a colour scheme in my mind - but that is not what I ended up with! My vision was something completely different - but I LOVE the end result anyway!!! And it was fun learning different techniques. The only real down size is that the wooden letters I found were A LOT thicker that I think Donna's were, so now my journal is REALLY bulky! But hey, that is half the fun!! :)
I also started on a swap I had - these ATC's are for Renea. I have to make her some butterflies too - and I made a box to put them all in. Those pics I will post later.
The FABULOUS gals at Scrap Addicts (Cori-Lyn and Ivy) asked me if I would be a guest designer for them! My response was a resounding HELL YES!!! The kit they gave me to create from was just full of great stuff. I had a great time creating with it!
The first project I did was an altered frame. I had originally intended to put a picture of my husband and I in it, but I was having trouble printing off the picture I wanted. I came across a really great one of my son and his fiance so decided to use that instead and make it into a gift for them.
For my other project, I did an envelope mini album! I found the idea on Pinterest and though it was a bit tough getting the envelopes together, it turned into a really cute album! And it is also going to be a gift!
I even made a video so you can see all the pockets in the album!
So make sure you go check out Scrap Addicts - they still have a couple of this month's kits left and will be having new ones each month!
I finished another week of the amazing Donna Downey Inspiration Wednesday class. I am almost caught up!!
I am really loving this class - I think glazing is my new fav technique!! And ended up adding some coloured modelling past to my pages because my paper ripped in a few places and I wanted to cover it - and as a result I got some cool extra texture!!
I did quite a bit of art journaling this weekend too, since I spent the entire day Sunday in my craft room!
I finished the May Express Yourself Challenge for SOD/SOE. It was fun, as we were supposed to use vegetables to make stamps!! I used a carrot, a potato and the stem of a mushroom to make the smaller critters on this page. And I had the basis for the page started earlier as I had used some left over color from another page and blotted it on this page - and everyone I showed it to said it looked like a butterfly. So I decided to just turn it into one!
I also started working on week 7 of my Donna Downey Inspiration Wednesday class - I am almost caught up! I am really loving this class. Always so much fun. And this week seemed to go really fast as there wasn't a lot of time needed for stuff to dry!
I should be finished this one today - so I went out and got the letters I needed to start week 8! I am so into this - I just want to stay home and craft all day and night!!!
Now that my theatre play is over, I was able to spend almost my whole weekend crafting (not that I didn't do that last weekend too at a crop, but at home I can do several projects at once!)
I finished my projects for my guest spot with Scrap Addicts (though I am going to let them post those on their site before I put them here!). I also put finishing touches on a project I worked on last week at my crop.
And it works great as the friend I am giving this too - it is her birthday tomorrow!
It was fun to just spend the day in my craft room being creative!
Home safe and sound from the most FABULOUS weekend!! I said I would post pics once I got back to a regular computer (iPads are NOT conducive to adding photos to my blog!)
This is how full my car was for my return trip!!
This is the fab idea I got from a great lady I sat with at the crop - put your stencils into a cheap album. Easier to transport, not to mention easier to see what you have!
I did two sizes - one for my smaller stencils and one for my bigger ones! Can't believe I didn't know this before!
This was the first make n'take we did - loved that I learned another way to use my gelatos!!
This was the second make n'take I did - learned how to use the Minc machine. Cool, but don't think I will get one. Fun using Scrap Addicts machine though!!
These two bags were the wonderful prizes I won! The first was just having my name pulled. The second was for winning musical chairs-scrapbook style! Was great to win as last time I played I went out first!
I also finished an album project I have been working on what feels like FOREVER!! I couldn't take really good pics at the crop and just decided it needs one finishing touch, so I will post more pics of it later, but here is one sneak peak at it!
This is a sneak peak at the kit I got that I am guest designing with! Started one project so will get pics as soon as I get it completed!
Like I said before, it was such a great weekend! I will blog more about some of the projects I made, especially the journaling!
I can't thank the girls at Scrap Addicts enough for all the fun I had this weekend!! Can't wait to do it again!!!!
