Heading to the city today to get my craft on for the whole weekend!! Can't wait! Car is all packed!!!

Wednesday 29 April 2015

I had the most AMAZING time last night doing a mixed media class with the phenomenal Dawn Pritchard! I was so sad when she closed her store and so jealous of all my Edmonton/St. Albert friends that were going to have the chance to learn from her when she decided to teach again!

Imagine my joy when another friend suggested we see if I could FaceTime the class and do it long distance!! It was so much fun - and so easy since I own practically everything Dawn does!!

Here are a couple pics of the layout - I love how it turned out and learned some new techniques!

If you want to learn some great techniques, give Dawn a shout - she still has spaces in the club I think!

Monday 27 April 2015

Almost forgot the other project I did this weekend! I had a great photo taken of me at a crop I attended back on April 18th, so I made myself a nice "frame" for it!

However, what has totally made my day are the two cool pieces of news I got!

  1. I was asked by the amazing Cori-Lyn at Scrap Addicts if I wanted to be a guest designer for them for May - obviously I said yes!!!! Check them out!! Scrap Addicts
  2. I am going to be PUBLISHED again!! Just Steampunk magazine emailed me today and they are publishing at least two of my projects in their next issue!!!
I am SO EXCITED!!!!

I had a VERY crafty weekend just past - and I wasn't even at a crop or anything! My husband was away and I was trying to keep busy and not be bored! I ended up finishing week 5 of my Donna Downey Inspiration Wednesday class, re-did week three of the same class (I loved my original but wanted to see if I could get closer to what Donna did in class - and finally got the products to do it).  I also finished a couple swaps. All in all, very productive!!

Check out Donna's site, and if you like art journaling, this class is a MUST!!

And these are my swaps - really hope my partners like them!!

As promised I did a video of my projects done for my guest designing stint with W2Scrapbooking and Shiny Objects and the April MixUrMedia kit! So here it is!!

As well, I had a friend who wanted me to do a video for making some paper flowers with the Bitty Blossoms die. So here it is!

Friday 24 April 2015

Gonna spend my evening finishing up some swaps and working on my Inspiration Wednesday pages - I need to get caught up!!

I can FINALLY share the news I have been dying to tell everyone for ages!!! The most fabulous Wendy at W2Scrapbooking asked me to be a guest designer for her April Mix Ur Media kit!!! I was just blown away when she asked me and I had the best time playing and creating with all the great stuff she sent me in the kit!

Please check out her totally cool blog - not to mention her fab store! I love shopping with her as she has a great selection and gets you your stuff so fast!!! Which is great for someone as impatient as me!!!

And here are some more pics of each project, along with some detail on how I worked with them all!

This is a round canvas I had kicking around and I thought it would be fun to work with. All the antique looking items from the kit worked so well with the idea I had in my head!! And I think I used up a couple of my brown/antique coloured sprays on this too!! I got the majority of my supplies from W2Scrapbooking as well for this project!!

I got the flowers I used on this kit in a prize I won at a crop I attended earlier in the year and they worked so great with this project. I don't know what they are made out of but they are really cool - they are like a foam with a wood feel to them.  I also had a little mini burlap canvas that I added wings and other accents to to give the canvas even more texture and depth.

I think the most fun I had with this project was coming up with something to do with the vintage pattern that was included with the Mix Ur Media kit! I used the tissue paper to make flowers. It was a technique I learned from being a Stampin Up rep, but the texture and weight of the pattern paper is perfect for these flowers!!!

This was my second project - I had so much fun with this one. I did a ton of collaging, spraying and inking on this, adding joint tape to give it texture! And the clock is an actual door knob I got at the local hardware store!!

I made tons of flowers with the pattern paper - just made smaller ones for this canvas. And I got some great Bo Bunny glitter paste that added more fun to the project!

Photographing this project turned out to be a bit of a challenge - cause the little circle is a mirror! Kept getting my phone showing up in the mirror!!

The Bo Bunny glitter paste really added some great texture to the canvas!

And my last project was a journal page. I have had such a great time working on my journal and finding new ways to express myself. I have gotten some great products from Wendy and they are so fun to use! I used my new Gelatos for the background for this page, as well as the cool stencil that was in the kit!  The pattern paper was also cool to add for texture.

I had so much fun working on this page - deciding what to add! The cards were great for inspiration, and I love using my Pico writer to add swirls and doodles! The Bo Bunny Glitter paste was a great accent to bring out the stencil

I created my tree using Viva Decor modeling creme - I actually used up the last of the bottle of this colour to get my tree just right! And I used the instructions of the pattern to stamp my birds onto ( I couldn't get them to stamp properly directly onto the page but this worked out better in the long run!)

The stencil from the kit was so cool - funky and great for texture. And worked well with the birdies!

I got the stamp set I used on this from a great friend and I loved how it gave me some great finishing touches to the page.

Well I hope you all liked my projects! And please go check out Wendy's blog and shop. She is just so fab!!!

I am going to do up a video on my YouTube channel later today for more close ups and such! So check it out later this weekend!!

Tuesday 21 April 2015

I got another package of goodies yesterday - it's like a crafty Christmas!!!

So I was wide awake this morning well before I had to be, so instead of trying to get back to sleep, I actually got up and finished a journal page! I can't show total pics of it yet (the reason will be revealed Friday!) but here are some sneak peaks!

Monday 20 April 2015

After a great scrappy day in La Crete, I spent most of the rest of my weekend working on other projects. They are still in progress, but I can show sneak peaks!! (#w2scrapbooking, #w2mumkit)

I had the most amazing crafty weekend!

Day one:

Spent the day out at Scrappy Apple in La Crete at their Mad Hatter crop! Great company, fab food, and even won some prizes! Was a great time and I got lots of things done! Made a hat for the contest, learned a new technique that I used on a make n' take tag and got a fair amount done on another project. And hanging with some of my best girlfriends made the day even better!

Wednesday 15 April 2015

I just love playing with all the new stuff I just got!!

Here are some sneak peaks of what I am working on:

And you have to check out W2Scrapbooking and her blog Shiny Objects - great places to feed your crafty obsessions!!

Monday 13 April 2015

So, I had a fabulous crafty weekend just finish and I needed to share what I did with you all!

Had a blast with a small group of ladies at the High Level Library crop, but small was still a hoot! I made a bunch of Thank You cards, but of course forgot to take photos! The other project I started working on was a Steampunk Corset album, and I did eventually finish it so thought I would share the end result! I did a video too as this album was REALLY hard to photograph!!!

I also finished week 4 of Donna Downey's Inspiration Wednesday class, and have been enjoying it so much I was inspired to do another set of pages using the techniques she has been showing us.

As well, I finished another journal page for the April Express Yourself Workshop. It hasn't been my favorite set of pages to date - mostly because I couldn't get my paint and gesso to do what I wanted! But it did make me think and I had fun doing it, which is the most important part!

Friday 10 April 2015

So exciting!  I am hosting a crop in October as a fundraiser for the library!  I already have several people who have said they will attend, and I have the fabulous Limor Webber attending to teach!

HL Library CROPTACULAR Fundraiser

You have to check out Limor's great blog - she is just so awesome I can't wait to learn from her again!

Limor Webber Designs

And the even cooler news - I have been asked by a friend to come out to PEI and teach at a crop she is having!! That will be so cool!!

Thursday 9 April 2015

Have been sick and super busy lately, but I have been doing a bit of crafting. I have been working on Donna Downey's Inspiration Wednesday 2015 class and I really love it. Art journaling is what I have been doing the most of lately.  I think I had all three of my art journals on the go this weekend!! Still working on finishing a couple of them, but this is what I had done so far:

This is a page I did with my Prima Colour Bloom Sprays and my new Tim Holtz bird stamps

This is a page I did using some new paints and a stamp I got in my latest SOD/SOE kit

This is week of IW

I will be posting more photos as I get stuff done! Scrapbooking at the library this weekend so should get lots done!
